Because your chin is both horizontally short and vertically long, a bony genioplasty and not an implant is what is dimensionally appropriate. The chin needs to come and up, dimensional changes that a chin implant is not design to achieve. The only question for the bony geniopalsty is whether the tilt of the bond as it comes forward is only needed or whether a vertical wedge reduction of it needs to be done as well. This would require x-ray analysis before surgery.

In your case a sliding genioplasty is a more desirable procedure because it can decrease your vertical height while giving you forward advancement.The ability to reduce the vertical height is the single indication making the sliding genioplasty a better procedure.Talk to some oral surgeons or board-certified plastic surgeons who have experience with this procedure.Oral surgeons may have more experience than most plastic surgeons.Also look for plastic surgeons who have done cranial facial fellowships or simply have experience with craniofacial surgery.I think you’ll appreciate the outcome procedure.
