Since this is a fluid problem, I agree with the other plastic surgeon you saw and would not have the eyelid surgery. I hope you find treatment for your Lyme Disease. Good luck.

Thank you for sharing your problem and posting your photo. If the eyelids are swollen with some form of fluid, surgery is not the correct approach to treatment. Oral steroids might be a good option. Sometimes Benadryl and cold compress can help. If the eyelids have excessive fat, then surgery is a reasonable option. You need a comprehensive evaluation in-person by an experienced oculoplastic surgeon.

The most effective way to treat this condition is to treat the underlying inflammatory disease with specialist guidance and the medications and lifestyle changes that he or she recommends. Dear skyjas,
I'm not sure how you got that close to the operating room. That is clearly swelling in your lower eyelid from whatever inflammatory process you have going on that would more likely be worsened with surgery.
