Hi Realself, Had a consultation with surgeon, told I don't have enough eyelid skin and not yet old enough for him to make a good guess as to placement for blepharoplasty. The advice given was to proceed with brow lift, if I want the issue fixed now, else wait a few more years. Can anyone provide any advice as to whether they think I should go ahead with a blepharoplasty now? I don't like the idea of a scar near my brow. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.
Answer: Eyelid Surgery Hello! Thank you for your question. As far as I can see from your photos you have extra saggy skin above your eye and your eye corners are very downward. For make a better symmetry and upward look I recommend you upper eyelid blepharoplasty and endoscopic brow lift. Please keep in mind that %100 symmetry is not achievable in any case.Best Regards!

Answer: Uneven eyelids can be corrected with blepharoplasty or cosmetic eyelid surgery Thank you for sharing your question and photos. Every person has asymmetries. There are many ways to correct these asymmetries. Every single person is asymmetric throughout their body and this includes the eyes. Eyelid unevenness can be corrected with blepharoplasty or cosmetic eyelid surgery. If you choose to get this eye issue fixed, eyelid surgery is one of the first cosmetic surgeries people usually get. While the average age might be 30 to 50's, some patients get this done in their 20s. It really depends on your genetic makeup and anatomy in addition to what exactly is bothering you.
That said, even after surgery I always warn patients that there will still be asymmetry and things will not look 100% perfect even because some asymmetries cannot be corrected unless you reposition bone, remove muscle etc. and some things are just not worth doing. Surgery is one option to consider. In today's day and age, there are also many nonsurgical options to consider. Botox injections as well as laser treatments can also be a tremendous benefit if you are not interested in surgery. Of course, there are also many combinations. I would recommend that you see a board-certified plastic surgeon who is a member of both ASPS & ASAPS and has plenty of experience in eyelid surgery. Go over your concerns with them and make sure above all, you walk out of there with several options and an idea of the pros and cons to each of them as well as realistic expectations. I hope this helps answer your question. If it does, please take a moment to up vote this answer on the “respond” button on the top right. Have a great day.

Answer: Blepharoplasty for Uneven Eyelids Hi there, To assess patients for blepharoplasty, a surgeon must evaluate not only the skin of the upper eyelid, but also the position of the eyelids over the eyes, the volume of the eyelids and the positioning of the brow. In my past experience, patients like you would benefit from possible eyelid ptosis repair to create even height of the eyelid, as well as volumization of the upper eyelids with filler or fat. An upper blepharoplasty could be necessary as well, but is less important in my experience. Based on in person assessment, it may be determined to be a good option in surgery, or to just correct the other issues first. Hope this helps and best of luck! - Dr. Cabin

Answer: Non-Surgical Chemical Brow Lift for Eyelid Rejuvenation -- add Ultherapy, Thread Lifting, RF Skin Tightening, Laser Treatments As we age, our eyelids naturally sag and droop. A combination approach would be best to see visible improvement. In terms of non-surgical treatment options, I would recommend a Chemical Brow Lift (using Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, or Jeuveau) and filler injections to rejuvenate the temples, eyebrow, eyelid, eye troughs, upper eye hollows, and forehead. I typically combine this with Ultherapy and thread lifting to lift the brow; RF and skin tightening laser treatments to stimulate collagen production and rejuvenate the skin; and laser or superficial RF devices for improvements in texture, color, and any crepey skin around the eyes as needed. In some cases, surgery is the best solution to achieve the desired results. See an expert for a formal consultation. Best, Dr. Emer.
