Is it safe to proceed with surgery after pneumonia

If you are no longer suffering from pneumonia, you should be fine to proceed with surgery. However, I highly recommend you tell your surgeon before your surgery so they can make the call.

Once you are cured from pneumonia you are cured. There should be no concerns with your tummy tuck now.

The internet is not a good place to shop for medical advice which is given without an examination.  Pneumonia is a serious disease which kills many people every year and no ethical surgeon would subject you to Cosmetic Surgery under general anesthesia with a recent history of pneumonia.The safest course would be to contact your Plastic surgeon. Odds are he would ask your Internist to officially declare in writing that it is safe to operate on you. Assuming you have fully recovered from the pneumonia (complete  return of normal pulmonary function), you will be able to proceed. Check with the doctors who know you best for "medical clearance". Best wishes.
