In my case, I have a wide-tipped nose; this creates a lack of proportion between my right and left profiles, and—as you can see in the photo—it looks distorted when compared to the front view. What would you look to improve given the type of nose I have? Maneuvers for your surgery would include dorsal hump reduction, tip refinement, nasal tip deprojection, tip elevation, among other maneuvers. Make sure you are going to a surgeon with hundreds of long-term before and after pictures on their website with standardized lighting and standardized backgrounds. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

For a wide-tipped nose, the main goal is usually tip refinement rather than simply making the whole nose smaller. The surgeon would assess the tip cartilages, skin thickness, nasal support, nostril shape, and whether the bridge and tip are balanced from both front and side views.
If the tip cartilages are broad or separated, rhinoplasty can refine them with cartilage reshaping, suturing, and sometimes conservative cartilage grafts for support. If the skin is thick, the final definition may be more limited, so the result should be planned realistically.
The difference between the right and left profile may come from tip asymmetry, septal deviation, cartilage shape, or uneven support. A good rhinoplasty plan should address symmetry and proportion, not just reduce the tip width.
I would be cautious about over-narrowing the tip or nostrils. A nose that is made too narrow can look pinched or create breathing problems. The best result would likely be a conservative refinement: better tip definition, improved symmetry, and a smoother relationship between the tip and bridge.
My advice would be to ask your surgeon: “Is my width coming from the tip cartilages, thick skin, nostril base, or septal asymmetry?” That answer will guide the correct technique. In your case, improving tip definition and balance between the two profiles may be more important than aggressive size reduction.

Maintaining good support is particularly important to ensure a stable, long-lasting result and to preserve normal breathing.
