Hello, I plan to soon have rhinoplasty/tipoplasty, the extent of which is limited to alar and columella grafts. The surgeon explained that no bones will be broken and that everything will be well-sutured into place. The surgeon was unable to confidently answer (at least not right away) whether I may use a vibration plate following the surgery. Do you know whether I may use a vibration plate following alar & columella graft rhinoplasty/tipoplasty? Thank you,

After alar and columella graft rhinoplasty, I would be cautious with a vibration plate during the early healing period. Even if no bones are broken, the grafts and soft tissues still need time to settle and scar into a stable position.
Vibration itself may not directly “break” the result, but it can increase swelling, blood pressure, facial pressure, and micro-movement in the early phase. For that reason, most surgeons would avoid high-vibration exercise or intense activity for at least the first few weeks.
In general, light walking is safe early, but vibration plates, running, jumping, heavy lifting, and high-impact exercise are usually delayed until your surgeon clears you. Many patients are asked to wait around 4–6 weeks, sometimes longer depending on the exact grafting and healing.
Because your procedure involves structural grafts around the nasal base and columella, it is best to follow your own surgeon’s protocol. If they are unsure, ask them specifically when the grafts are stable enough for vibration-based exercise.
My practical advice would be: do not use the vibration plate in the early recovery period. Wait until swelling is controlled, the nose is stable, and your surgeon gives written clearance.

Alar and columella grafts need time to become fixed in their pocket, and the early healing phase is when displacement is possible. I would avoid a vibration plate for about six weeks after surgery, then resume gradually. Whole body vibration is unlikely to move a well sutured graft after that point, but your own surgeon knows the details of your graft fixation, so their clearance matters most.
