I am not seeing much improvement on my lines around mouth & upper lip. Is there a better treatment for my issue?

Thank you for posting photos. The lip lines are not expected to change after the face lift. The laser resurfacing can help the more superficial lines. The deeper lines will benefit from a combination of meticulous filler injections (Restylane Refyne is very nice for this application) and tiny amounts of Botox (or any other neurotoxin) . I do see great results with that treatment, but don't expect the deep lines to completely disappear. Hope this helps!

Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery.

Perioral lines, the vertical creases that appear above the upper lip, can be challenging to treat. When they are severe, an ablative laser treatment is usually the best option. This procedure removes layers of dermal tissue precisely, revealing smoother skin below. There is a week or two of downtime after this treatment but results can be both dramatic and long-lasting. I encourage you to work with a board-certified dermatologist who is also a laser expert to ensure the best possible outcome.

Wrinkles can be improved with a combination of Botox and/or fillers for the lines themselves and to build anatomical support with Sculptra for collagen building. Ultherapy is a great skin tightening device, but works best in combination with other treatments like RF treatments, lasers, microneedling/PRP or sculptra to get increased collagen, tightening and improve skin tone. Hi Mahoney. It looks like you may be addressing two different issues.  The folds around the side of the nose and mouth are best addressed with a facelift or dermal fillers.  Not sure how much improvement you received with the facelift but it does appear there is more room for improvement and that could either be another facelift or injection products like Restylane and Radiesse.For the fine lines around the mouth, you are also doing the right thing (lasers) but not sure it's at the right practitioner, because two treatments in the lines should be gone.  We use the Sciton Profile Full field and fractional technology to get rid of upper and lower lip lines.  How you do the treatment and anesthetize the patient is more important than what device you are using as most of these devices are very similar.

Your line are very deep and I would not expect a great deal of improvement with perioral lines from doing a facelift.  You might want to consider doing a full face renuvion treatment, which would definitely help your lines.  Unfortunately, renuvion is best done for the whole face, rather than one selected area.  Best of luck.

Thanks for your question. The perioral region is a very challenging area to treat. Imagine the ridges around your mouth as a series of peaks and valleys. In your case I think the most effective treatment will be a combination of dermabrasion and fat transfer. The dermabrasion flattens the peaks, while the fat injections raise the valleys. This will even out the skin and result in a smoother appearance. See an experienced board certified plastic surgeon. Save your money and stop what you are doing.  Your current treatment is not going to work and waiting longer is not going to help.  Of course, there is a much better solution.  In my opinion, there is nothing that can treat these lines like a Hetter Peel (croton oil chemical peel).  The results can be truly amazing.  I have been doing these peels for over fifteen years and have treated hundreds of patients like yourself.  I have a lot of photos of folks like yourself that I have treated on my website.  Research this procedure and see the results for yourself.  Good luck!

A facelift will not do anything for lip lines, and you don't want it to or your mouth will be distorted post-op.  The lasers help stimulate new collagen, but this process takes several months.  So you will see slow gradual improvement in the lines.  Deep lines like these will never go away completely.  There are some other modalities you can also try such as microneedling with radiofrequency, subcision where a needle is placed under the lines to try and free them up, full CO2 resurfacing.  But finish your treatments - and if they are better a little HA filler may be help too.
