Question

There must be an exercise program or something insurance will pay to repair m six pack. Please help, missing my Pilates, trying to adjust, but keeps getting bigger.

Thank you for your question Lee Sertich. Diastasis recti is a very common condition that women encounter post pregnancy or as the age. Depending on the severity of the muscle separation a tummy tuck (mini/full) may be the best option for you. Small separations may be improved with physical therapy, but the larger separations cannot. Unfortunately insurance companies do not cover diastasis recti repair. I recommend you consult with a plastic surgeon to discuss personalized treatment options.

Good question. A true diastasis refers to the muscles separating apart and also some stretching out of the fascia/tissue around your rectus muscles. Exercise can strengthen the muscles but it will not change their position and narrow the gap between the muscles. Hope this helps.

 Unfortunately no exercice program can decrease and fix the gap between your rectus muscle and most insurance company won't cover it as it is considered a cosmetic procedure.

Thanks for your question. Unfortunately, insurance companies will not approve diastasis recti repair. Some people have been able to do exercises to get it better but not completely resolve.
