I’ve found a great doctor for my breast lift with implants. I love everything but she takes the tape off the incisions after one week. And I’ve seen on here and also studies that show ongoing taping for at least 6 weeks helps the incisions and can result in flatter scars. I’m not sure how to bring this up
Answer: Breast lift Dear Warmhearted430931, my preferred lift is a lollipop lift when a periareolar won't do (ie greater than 2cm lift required). The lollipop technique was created by a Canadian plastic surgeon named Elizabeth Hall-Findley and treats the breast as a three dimensional structure instead of two dimensions (anchor - lift). Most importantly it does not require the horizontal component scars that the anchor-lift requires and breasts appear much more natural, lifted, and less boxy. Lastly, the lift lasts longer because the lollipop doesn't rely on the skin to hold the breast up, its actually breast tissue thats being brought together to support the breast and hence improves longevity. Answer: Tape Once the tape is removed, you can use the silicone tapes or other scar products to improve the scars. You don't really need to discuss the tape issue with your surgeon. She probably removes her tapes early to be able to check the incisions.

Answer: Tape on breast lift incisions ……. I love using tape on breast lift scars. i like using them for about a month as long as there is no irritation. After a month or so I recommend using silicon strip s if necessary. But every surgeon has their own way of dealing with wounds and scars. Do not stress over this. Just bring it up next time you talk to your surgeon. It is a good thing to be able to communicate with your surgeon! Much better the asking around. Best of luck, Dr. Miguel Mota

Answer: Hypafix tape You are correct, long term taping mechanically supports incisions so they can heal as best they can after surgery. Silicone cannot do what tape can in the early period. Go buy some Hypafix retention tape on line. It is porous and elastic, so you only need to change it every 7-10 days while you go about your usual activities. It should be used for at least the first 12 weeks.
