Will going from 400cc implants to 230cc with a lift cause a noticeable difference in cup size?

Question

I decided to replace my implants that were over 14 yo. Because I had breastfed after implants, the surgeon recommended a lift with implants. I was told they would be slightly smaller but close to my current size. I had 400cc and the new implants were 170cc less. Initially the 400cc were a DD. (After breastfeeding DDD due to ptosis). I was told the 230cc was the closest they could get. I went in for implants to start not a reduction. Will this be a big difference in cup size??

if you go from 400 cc to 230 cc it is most likely that you will have a difference in size. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.

Unfortunately, you have not provided any photographs or told us your bra size. However, at size 32 or 34, each 100 cc of implant corresponds to 1 cup size change. At size 36 or 38, each 200 cc of implant corresponds to 1 cup size change. From this, you can determine the size change of your breasts with smaller implants. The lift technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained if not injured during your previous surgery.

Going down 170 cc size will drop you down a cup. If you are a DDD, you may not even need or want implants.  With no implants, you will lose at least 2 cups in size and with the lift, perhaps up to 3. A "C" cup might be a nice size for you and much less likely to sag over time. "DDD" and "DD" sizes will sag again.

Your breasts will appear different even if you had the lift alone as the excess skin would be removed and the ptosis corrected.  Your implant size will be reduced by almost half if you go from 400cc to 230cc.  You may want to look at the two implants side by side to get a feel for the size difference.

From a 400 to a 230, WITH a lift (which removes some breast tissue to accomplish the lift) I expect you will see a cup size decrease. But it sounds like the shape will be improved!
