You can make a nose look shorter in several ways

If you do not want to touch your tip because you like the way it looks, this can be done as well

You can either shorten it from the top (remove the top part of the nasal bones), or the bottom, move the tip back or rotate it

There are several techniques to shorten a long nose, such as suturing techniques for the nasal tip, shortening the membranous and cartilaginous columella, and rotating the tip upwards.  In addition to these techniques, removing a hump at the glabella will lower the start point for the top of the nose, which will also shorten it.  This can all be done through closed rhinoplasty techniques under general anesthesia.

Yes. A Nose CAN be both lengthened and shortened. Shortening can be combined with refinement of the tip, rotation or derotation (turning down) of the nasal tip and narrowing of the nose. To find out what can be done to your nose you should see a Plastic surgeon in face to face consultation.

Hello, I have reviewed your posted photo and your are a good candidate for a rhinoplasty. There are a few different procedure that can also improve on a long midface. Schedule a consultation with a Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon and you will be advised of your options once you have been examined. You should also have some photo imaging done and will be able to see what you will look like after surgery. Good luck to you.

A long nose can be shortened by removing a piece of the septum just above the tip. I would not be done by removing bone from the bridge. Removing a hump or changing the tip can give the illusion of a shorter nose in some cases.
