I have Hidradenitis suppurativa will a panniculectomy be considered covered by insurance. I have Tricare prime

or you can have your doctor draft a letter to say you have HA and need a panniculectomy. They often approve however, this is a functional procedure which is used to help improve your quality of life. Your surgeon cannot do anything cosmetic under that coverage - this is why if you need any further work, a tummy tuck, thigh lifts etc he or she will need to clear it before hand, if they say no, then you will be responsible for covering the price of the additional procedures, it is important you are clear about this before you undergo any surgery.
