I had restylane injected in the under eye area and now wake up with crusty eyes. Is this caused by the fillers?

I had 2.5 syringes of restylane injected in my under eye area. A week after it settled, I started to wake up with crusty eyes. Some days are worse than others as the eyes will feel completely glued shut. This only occurs in the morning when I wake up. Is this caused by the fillers?

I'm sorry you're unhappy with your final results. I suggest following up with your injector about your concerns. If you're unhappy with your results, the filler can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. Hope this helps.

Thank you  for your question. It is safe to have fillers and laser hair removal while you are taking that medication for UC and Graves' Disease. It is always best to schedule a consultation with an experienced injector.

It's too soon to tell what your final results will be. You have swelling, which can be asymmetrical, and last 1-2 weeks after lip injections. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
