Is it an infection or Permalip reject? (Photo)

Question

Hello I have Permalip side : 5 since 2.5 years with no problem But since 3 days a "button" (?) is appeared on the top of my mouth at the right side it is swollen and hard.. I take since 2 days antibiotics during one week...I have a rendez vous with doctor in a week I'm very worried..it seems like the Permalip has slidden To the top..How is it possible after 2.5 years. Is it an infection or Permalip reject ? I don't want to take them off... what s happened ? .thank you so

Thank you for your question.  Please return to you surgeon to see if he can advise, suddenly swelling after 2.5 years is very unusual.  If this doesn't resolve with antibiotics then you may need the implant removed, please do have any examination.  All The Best

Sudden swelling of your upper lip 2.5 years after PermaLip may be an infection. If this does not resolve with antibiotics, your implant may need to be removed, depending on your examination. Hope this helps. Dr Joseph
