Is it normal to have intense muscle pain post drain removal after a breast implant removal and lift?

So sorry to hear about your pain after the drain removal. That is miserable. I'm uncertain as to why you had such prolonged drainage but the longer drains are in the more things can scar around them. It is likely it was up against a nerve near the rib cage. My suggestion would be to use heat and Ibuprofen. Best of Luck!

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Given that your drains were in over 3 weeks after surgery, I am not surprised that there is some pain and spasm of the pectoralis muscle as there can be tissue in growth into those drains if left for a prolonged period of time. Each week the drain stays in, and especially is drainage output is low, there is more chance of tissue ingrowth. I would ask your doctor for a muscle relaxant (Robaxin or Flexeril are good) to help the spasms subside, especially to take at night if this is keeping you up.
