Thank you for your question. It should probably be fine, however, make sure you are properly hydrated as flying can dehydrate you and that you are moving around frequently- you don't want to have been seated for 4 straight hours and then have surgery for another 4 hours and be at a significant risk for blood clots because of all that immobilization. All the best,
Flying hrs before surgery should not affect you. You actually need to consider the time frame before flying back, which I recommend you to consult with your preferred surgeon. Best luck!
Thanks for the question. In my practice i usually recommend to stay at the country where the surgery is going to be perform for at least 2 weeks after surgery to avoid unnecessary risks. Respectfully, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol
Thank you for your question. Flying before surgery would not necessarily hinder your operation. We normally are concerned about patients flying after surgery as they can be immobile for several hours increasing the risk of blood clot formation.
Yes you can have surgery after flying 3 or 4 hours after. Just make sure you follow all instructions given to you for preparation before going into the Operation Room. Good Luck
If you are travelingout of town to have your procedures performed, it is best to review yourdoctor’s pre-op and post-op recommendations to plan accordingly. Depending onthe distance you are traveling, it may be recommended to allow more timebetween your travel and surgery time. With any procedure, it is best to ere onthe side of caution and allow yourself adequate time so your body can bestrespond to your procedures.
I would kindly suggest you fly in the night before. Pulmonary embolisms have occurred from flying alone, and tummy tucks can increase risk of PE. It's one thing to fly for less than three hours then have a less than three hour surgery, but I suspect this isn't the case. All surgeries carry risks so choose your surgeon and your pre and post op plans carefully. Good luck.
You can fly prior to surgery just make sure to follow you doctors pre op orders, it is flying after that is an issue for about 2 weeks after you should not fly.
Flying prior to surgery should not be a problem. Make sure you walk around a lot after landing and before the procedures, as prolonged sitting and mild dehydration( nothing to eat and drink prior to surgery) can lead to blood clots in the legs. But this is good advice for anybody on the day of surgery.Good luckEric Weiss MD
Flying a few hours prior to surgery should not be a problem, unless your flight is delayed. Depending upon the surgery, flying may need to be postponed from 1-4 weeks afterwards.
Dear PytOnDuty,Exciting times for you!Bottomline: Call your Plastic Surgeon. We all have special instructions. The following are my personal instructions. Specifics, additions or deletions may vary depending on your surgeons preferences. I will break it down into three peri operative time ...
It is theoretically possible to go in and release the sutures. The abdominal plication can indeed make the abs look like one single row. I have not had to correct an abdominal plication that was not satisfactory to the patient but i can't see why this wouldn't be possible.
Panniculectomy literally cuts off your overhang; tummy tuck will address your entire tummy and pull in your entire torso and remove more extensive redundant skin.
