I had 2 c-sections, Hysterectomy and Appendix removed. My c-section scar and Appendix scar left an indented scar. I would like to know if they can be removed or fixed?
Answer: Improving Scar Healing with Silagen + Bioshield and Lasers (ProYellow, Excel V, VBeam), Microneedling/PRP I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist for after care. I recommend Silagen + Bioshield to promote healing. Scars like these can generally be improved with lasers (BBL, ProYellow, Excel V, VBeam) and microneedling with PRP. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Morpheus 8 Hi @Rational278015! I recommend Morpheus 8. Morpheus8 is a non-surgical treatment for full body skin resurfacing, skin tightening, and fat reduction of stubborn areas. It uses minimally invasive fractional radiofrequency energy (RF) to penetrate the skin deeper than other microneedling devices, triggering the skin’s natural healing response to promote skin tightening and lifting. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!

Answer: Scar Revision is recommended with Laser treatment Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and RF therapy to help reduce the longterm effects of the scarring. Keloids, hypertrophic scars, widened scars, red scars, and hyperpigmented scars all require scar modulation with topical creams followed by lasers and RF therapy. Topical skincare should be directed to a specific need, whether for pigmentation or hypertrophy and our office can guide you through the process to obtain the correct Plato’s Scar cream or Melarase cream for hypertrophy and discoloration. In terms of lasers, we would employ the vbeam laser for redness, Venus Viva RF, PRP microneedling, chemical peels, and Morpheus 8, fractional erbium, or fractional co2. All of these have their individual benefits. Most of all, we recommend you visit a solid plastic surgeon who understands surgical scar revision, laser therapy, and RF therapy for scars. Answer: Tummy tuck Dear Rational278015, based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a TT. Full tummy tuck should tighten your abdominal muscles and remove the excess skin. Flanks liposuction would give you a better shape. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon because only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Can my indented c-section & appendix scar be removed/fixed? Thank you for your pictures and questions. With the tethering and contour deformity of the scar combined with the amount of skin excess and laxity you have, the ideal solution would be a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty). This would not only allow you to completely remove the previous scars but would also remove a significant amount of skin and recontour the shape and appearance of the mid-section. Make sure you find a local plastic surgeon who is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery! Dallas Buchanan, MD VIVIFY plastic surgery Tampa, FL
