Botox 8-10 days before I got pregnant

If you received Botox before getting pregnant, it is unlikely to cause any harm during your current pregnancy. While it is unknown if Botox causes any harm in pregnancy, it is recommended to avoid any aesthetic treatments during the remainder of your pregnancy. I hope this helps and best of luck!

As a general rule, we have always told our patients that as long as you have Botox before you are actually pregnant then you are fine. There have been no studies on getting Botox while pregnant, simply because it’s not worth the possible risks. However, it is only in your body such a short amount of time that it will not cross over to the new baby.

There are not adequate studies showing that Botox is safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding, so the recommendation is to avoid treatment during those times or if you are planning to become pregnant. It is not likely there would be enough toxin circulating to harm the fetus, but we just don't have enough studies to deem it safe.

There are no human studies on Botox given during pregnancy. Botox is pretty localized to the areas injected for 3 to 4 months, with very small amounts circulating in the body. However, I would not worry about this. In fact I have injected Botox for a couple women with severe migraines during their pregnancy because their OB/GYN felt that the potential harm to the fetus from the mothers severe migraines outweighed any potential harm from the Botox.
