Hi... Thank you for the question and photo... Sorry for that infection... The treatment for mycobacterium is at least for 3-6 months... Mean while the mycobacterium could be active... Contact your PS 

The tx of Mycobacterium is very specific and should be followed up with your board certified plastic surgeon and an infectious disease specialist. It is very possible for another wound to develop while being treated so current follow ups and testing with each doctor and their communication with each other is vital. Thank you for your question and I'm sorry for the infection!Melinda Lacerna, MD FACS

Infection with mycobacteria is not common in the United States.The lump you feel must be explored and drained open and continue on the antibiotics as recommended by infectious disease specialist
