Question

I got mycobacterium infection from a bbl i have been on antibiotics for a month now . Can I get another infection while on antibiotics ??i feel another lump not sure if I shou be concerned

The tx of Mycobacterium is very specific and should be followed up with your board certified plastic surgeon and an infectious disease specialist. It is very possible for another wound to develop while being treated so current follow ups and testing with each doctor and their communication with each other is vital. Infection with mycobacteria is not common in the United States.The lump you feel must be explored and drained open and continue on the antibiotics as recommended by infectious disease specialist
