I have a week off for vacation 23 days after my operation. Is it unrealistic to take a 2 hour flight for a 5 day vacation? What about attending an outdoor music festival 23 days post op?

Answer: Your surgeon can best advise you of when it’s safe to travel after surgery. Recovery timelines vary from person to person, with general guidelines recommending that patients avoid putting pressure or sitting on the buttocks for two weeks. By three weeks, a short, two-hour flight should be doable, so long as you get up and move around every thirty minutes. Only your surgeon can correctly assess what post-op activities are realistic for you, though most people should be able to attend a concert three weeks after a butt lift as long as they avoid physically strenuous exercise (such as vigorous dancing.) It’s best if you clear these travel plans with your surgeon.
