Hi. I am 5’2 128lbs. I would like to know approximately how much fat I would need to be transferred into the butt so I can see a difference? I went to my consultation and they told me I needed to gain about 10 pounds
Answer: How much fat do I need for a BBL to see a difference? Thank you for your questions. Unfortunately, there is no magic number or amount of fat that is needed to "make a difference." Every person has different expectations and goals. And the most important thing in fat transfer is the quality of the fat transferred, not the quantity. I would rather transfer 200 cc of high quality fat with a high probability of survival than 1000 cc of fat that is poor quality and concentration. Make sure you see a plastic surgeon who is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery to discuss your options.Best of luck!Dallas R. Answer: Brazilian Butt Lift A good candidate has enough fat available for transfer in the procedure. The amount of fat that can be transferred in a BBL depends on how much fat the patient has to harvest and the amount of space there is to move the fat into. It is recommended for the patient to have a BMI of 30 or less. If you are too thin, a Brazilian Butt Lift may not be possible.

Answer: How much fat do I need for a BBL to see a difference? Thanks for your question. The amount of fat transferred during a BBL depends on the quantity available and the extent of buttock augmentation each patient desires. Sufficient body fat for a buttock augmentation is very patient-specific, depending on an individual’s body shape and proportions as well as their expectations. Buttock augmentation with fat grafting is one of our most popular procedures in Colombia, and from experience we can tell you that some patients do very well with 300 cc of fat per side while others can need 800 cc or more. If you put on weight before surgery, there is more to transfer. But I do not generally recommend this because we augment the buttock during surgery for optimal shape, and if you then lose the weight post operatively you will loose it disproportionately from your augmented buttock and the results could suffer. We recommend patients to keep their normal weight and body form prior to surgery, and then we are working from a stable situation to create the changes we are working for.

Answer: How much fat do I need for a BBL to see a difference? Without a side view photo or knowing your goals, I am unable to specify how much fat needs to be harvested and transferred to your buttocks. Gaining weight is often counterproductive. If you gain weight that is fat, some of the fat will likely be associated with the buttocks. In almost every case, I do not recommend weight gain prior to a BBL. I think it is better to maintain your stable weight.

Answer: Shaping the buttocks Buttock shaping/augmentation is a combination of liposculpting of waist, lower back, thighs and selective augmentation with fat grafts. A significant improvement can be achieved in many patients with just taking away fat deposits from flanks and lower back without augmentation; buttocks look larger, more prominent; visually it looks like augmentation. Adding fat grafts (volume) to some portions of buttocks (usually upper and lateral-hip) will additionally shape buttocks and make them more harmonious with back and thighs. Amount of fat grafts needed to achieve this effect will depend of individual patients desire and anatomical structure (bones, muscles, fat distribution). You seem to be good candidate for BBL, in person consultation is suggested. Good luck.
