Should I get a BBL or Tummy tuck first? I'm trying to get a flat stomach, but a little more fat in the rear doesn't hurt (photo)

Thanks for the question. Based on your photos you will need a BBL first then after you'll get a tummy tuck. But first of all you need to lose some more kilos. After you lose kilos, you should meeting with a Board Certified Surgeon and planning the process. After planning, everything will be better. I wish you all the best.

Based off your photos, you seem to be a great candidate for liposuction with 360 with Vaser with a fat transfer to the butt.  Liposuction 360 would be of your abdomen, waist and back leaving you with a great hour shape figure.  I would suggest doing the tummy tuck once heeled.  If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

You appear to be a good candidate for both procedures. Combination procedures are safe and very effective in the right hands.  The surgeon has to be an expert in each procedure and must have a lot of experience in performing combination procedures. You definitely have to choose your surgeon correctly and make sure that he/she has the training and experience to meet your goals with absolute safety.  Don’t settle for less than a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with specialized expertise in this procedure.

For those of us who routinely do these surgeries, we routinely recommend BBL first then Tummy tuck surgery 6 months later.  For patients doing more conservative buttock enhancement, targeted fat graft (miniBBL) can be done simultaneously but realize you will have pressure on your fat grafted buttocks as you are recovering from your tummy tuck.  Best Wishes!!

I usually perform 360 Vaser ultrasound liposuction with BBL first. This will remove and use all fat of the abdomen, waist and back while allowing fat transfer for curvy contour.In some patients, a tummy tuck may also be indicated for lose muscles and/or skin. Depending upon the situation, tummy tuck can be done later or at the same time as 360+BBL.An exam and consultation with a plastic surgeon who performs these procedures is recommended to confirm you are a candidate as well as discuss your options and expectations.

If you are in good health and can obtain medical clearance from your primary physician, then you may be a candidate for a tummy tuck and BBL performed at the same time.  Based on your photographs, you are a great candidate for a tummy tuck with liposuction.  This can be done through a low and short incision, all completely below the bikini line.  The belly button can be designed to look natural and have no scars on the exterior.   Your muscles can also be plicated resulting in a flat abdomen.  A BBL can be performed at the same time for improved buttock and waist contour.  Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.  Best wishes and good luck.

Most patients get an immense benefit with maximal liposuction of the abdomen, sides, and back to obtain the smallest waist possible and then maximal fat transfer to the buttocks and hips. The answer to your question is a little more complicated.  You could have the TT done first to remove the loose skin and tighten the abdomen.  However, the result will not be as tight as lipo and BBL first and then TT.  If you are in good health, both can be performed at the same time; but the upper abdomen cannot be aggressively liposuctioned at the time of the TT due to blood supply issues.

You would benefit most from a tummy tuck and flank liposuction. You have extra skin and fat in your abdomen that would best be removed by a tummy tuck. I prefer to do a procedure like this at my affiliated hospital in Morristown. You can still go home the same day. A binder a round your tummy will help the healing process. Vector 3 dimensional imaging may help you see what you might look like. A rid out to chester New Jersey may be worth your investment. Good luck....

There is a difference between procedures which "could" be performed simultaneously and those which "should" be performed simultaneously.
While they can be performed safely during the same procedure (assuming a 6 hour max OR time), some consideration should given to the nature of these procedures and the anticipated recovery period. In general, it is always best to minimize the pressure on the surgical site. The recommendations for these 2 procedures in particular are in conflict with each other (one necessitating prone (belly) sleeping and the other supine (back) sleeping).
There is no perfect solution in this scenario. For this reason, I do not regularly combine these procedures. Side sleeping is sometimes a reasonable compromise. Alternatively, patients can rotate position frequently (on the hour) or use a specialty pillow to offload the buttocks grafted area. However, for best results staging or staggering these procedures is best.
With regards to your specific question, stacking these procedures can be safe, staggering them is relatively more practical/sensible (when one considers post op recovery). If one can make the necessary accommodations for recovery, the procedures should have no effect on each other. There are pillows/mattress which may be of help, however, it is up to the patient to decide of these accommodations can be made.
There is no perfect order for undertaking these procedures. Undergoing BBL first necessitates fat harvest from areas where skin laxity/excess may already be an issue. Harvest will only exacerbate the problem which will then only be addressed at the time of the abdominoplasty. This does, however, optimize fat harvest. Beginning with an abdominoplasty, will avoid the problem of excess skin but compromises fat harvest.
