Should I be worried about this lump 6 years after getting breast implants?

No breast lump should be discounted as normal without a workup.

There are many reasons for a lump both benign and concerning, It is important to distinguish between the 2 via imaging and potentially tissue sampling.

I would recommend mammogram and ultrasound as a start.

As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).

Hi. Anytime you have a new breast mass you should absolutely get that checked out by your doctor. I would recommend getting in very soon to see your regular medical doctor as a starting point.

Breast lumps can be a sign of breast cancer. Insurance usually covers the cost of mammograms. If the mammogram is considered suspicious, your doctors will often request a biopsy. Cost should be the last thing on your mind. If the lumps is considered benign and related to your augmentation, then you have the luxury of time to take the next step. If it is considered cancerous, do not delay treatment. All the best.

This is something you cannot ignore . Go back to your surgeon to get it evaluated. Could be related to the implant but you can’t be sure

Visit with your surgeon or whoever you see for breast health for an evaluation. Any new lumps or masses should be examined to rule out any concerns. Further imaging studies can be ordered if needed.
