I'm in my late 40s, 5'8", no kids, and have maintained a goal weight of 155 lbs for over 20 years after a 100-lbs weight loss. I’ve consulted with 5 board-certified surgeons locally for a tummy tuck to get rid of my love handles and lower apron, all of whom who have given me somewhat different recommendations. Surgeon #1 – tt + lipo to flanks Surgeon #2 – tt only (360 lipo as a separate procedure later if I felt I needed it) Surgeon #3 – tt only (no lipo) Surgeon #4 – tt only (no lipo) Surgeon #5 – tt + 360 lipo together I’m leaning toward surgeon #4 as he said he sees minimal fat on me, says most of my issue is extra skin, and recommends skin removal only. He would excise any fat on me in the ab area and combined with the MR, I can still get good results without the use of liposuction. When a tummy tuck is performed, does it alone help to shape the ab area or is at least some lipo necessary? Would I still get good results with a tummy tuck without liposuction?

It’s difficult to give a complete answer to your question as I do not have the benefit of having a physical exam and understanding how loose your tissues of your abdomen are. A tummy tuck will remove the loose skin of your abdomen and re-approximate the muscles of your abdomen, if required. T...
