Deep plane facelift after MyEllevate neck procedure - will this previous procedure cause any issues?

Hi! I often see this in my practice because I used to perform MyEllevate neck lifts and I do a lot of deep plane facelift surgery. It is completely fine to have a deep plane facelift after MyEllevate. The MyEllevate suture is permanent so I often see it during the deep plane facelift and I simply remove it. In my experience the scarring from MyEllevate is minimal and doesn’t interfere with the surgery. I hope this helps!

The answer is that your procedure will be more technically complicated due to deep tissue scarring related to your previous procedure. My advice to patients seeking correction of their neck is to avoid costly, and poorly efficacious minimally invasive procedures that over promise and usually under deliver.

Hi, thank you for your question. Since the Deep plane facelift goes under the deep layer (SMAS), the previous Myelevate shouldn't make any difference. There may be some slight additional scar tissue, but because the majority of dissection is under the deep plane, it shouldn't affect the results. All the best,

Yes, it is possible to have a facelift/necklift after Myellavate. Like any other threadlift, though, the sutures and scar tissue left behind can make the procedure a bit more challenging for the surgeon!

Even though there may be some scarring from your previous procedure, a highly experienced facelift surgeon will be able to accomplish the deep plane facelift without much difficulty. The long term result should be much better as well.

Any prior procedure/surgery results in scar tissue which makes future surgery more challenging and increases the risk of complications, though it is not a contraindication to a deep plane facelift.
