The conversion rate form Botox to Dysport in terms of units is 2.5:1. Therefore the result obtained with 40 units of Botox is equivalent to 100 units of Dysport.
I use a 2.5 conversion factor so somewhere around 100 units of Dysport should give a similar result to 40 units of Botox. I hope this information is helpful for you.Stephen Weber MD, FACSDenver Facial Plastic Surgeon
Hi Karen. We use a 3:1 conversion from Dysport to Botox. That would be 120 units. We do this because we can offer 3 units of Dysport at the same price as 1 unit of Botox and feel that the duration at a 3:1 conversion is better for Dysport than for Botox. We have tested this over and over again for many years and have transitioned our whole practice to Dysport. Our patients love the results. To see our complete analysis of the pros and cons of Dysport vs. Botox, click the link below.
2.5 is probably a bit low and 3.0 is probably too high. However this is the neighborhood. Make sure the doctor is taking before and after photographs so you can actually study your treatment effect.
Different doctors may use a slightly different conversion when switching between Botox and Dysport. I would say most doctors probably use a conversion of about 2.5-3 units of Dysport for each unit of Botox. So, if you used 40 units of Botox, the conversion would be around 100-120 units of Dysport.
Generally speaking, the conversion from Dysport to Botox is usually 2.5 or 3:1. Therefore, if you usually get 40 units of Botox, then you would require between 100 to 120 units of Dysport. Good luck.
In my practice, I use a 3:1 conversion. Although this is just an estimate, it tends to work beautifully. I love to recommend Dysport to the crow's feet, especially, as it tends to have a little greater spread/ effect than Botox. In most practices, including mine, the price of 1 unit of Botox is exactly equal to 3 units of Dysport. I mention this because many patients are skeptical to receive Dysport as they think more units will equal higher cost. In your case, 120 units of Dysport should produce similar results to your prior Botox therapy and cost the same.
The conversion is typically 2.5 to 3 to 1 from dysport to botox. If you typically have 40 units of botox, then you will need 100 to 120 units of dysport.
The conversion is around 3:1 of disport to BOTOX. Although that is just an estimate and not absolute. So you would most likely need 100-140 units of disport.
