Thank you for your question. In my experience you are a great candidate for an injectable filler such as Juviderm or Restylane. I would consult with an experienced injector. Good Luck.
The dent that you have in your forehead appears to be soft tissue in origin (with scarred tissue) rather than of a bone indentation. Hyaluronic-based fillers will provide a temporary improvement but fat grafting will produce a longer-term solution. Whether this is best done by fat injections or the placement of a small dermal-fat graft can be debated.
The dent(s) on the forehead can be treated in different ways depending on the cause. If the dent is due to trauma, you may require filler with subcisions to first elevate the skin. Volumizing filler options in that region are hyaluronic acid based (juvederm or restylane) or synthetic (sculptra, radiesse, bellafill) . If you are considering filler, I would most recommend Radiesse due to its high lifting properties and it being the same composition of bone which is prominent in the forehead area. Hyaluronic acid based materials may give you a swollen or gel-filled look in the forehead area which is not natural, particularly in thin asian foreheads. If your dent occurred own its own, it may be possible that you have a condition such as morphea which causes scarring to naturally occur. This will need to be evaluated by a physician, but treatment is best performed by fat grafting which will soften and improve the texture and look of the scarred tissue theoretically due to stem cells in the fat tissue. This is also a permanent option however less easily controlled for than fillers and will require surgery.
Best treatment is non-surgical: a skin filler. Treatment is quick and virtually painless.Elliot W. Jacobs, MD, FACSNew York City
