I had a breast reduction in February. My left breast was bigger than the right one. The Plastic Surgeon knew this - or maybe he forgot? My breast size was a 36DD, and I am small framed. After the surgery I am now a 34C which is awesome, however, the left breast is still a lot bigger than the right one. The doctor said in a year from surgery he can do some revisions but I will have to pay for it. Shouldn't he have gotten it right in the first place? Why do I have to pay again for his mistake?

Hello Renren,I completely agree with Dr. Lyle. This is not uncommon after breast reduction surgery and will eventually correct itself with time.Just be patient and follow the advice of your plastic surgeon.Sincerely, Abhay Gupta MD.
Removing breast tissue for a breast reduction is sometimes a judgment call. The surgeon may have felt that removing any more may have caused an adverse problem. To remove anymore now may be done by direct excision or liposuction. You may have to consult your insurance company.
This is an important question. Birth control pills can increase your risk for clotting especially in the first several months. I would discuss this issue at length with your gynecologist and plastic surgeon for specific recommendations tailored to you and the procedures performed.
