I just had a breast reduction this Tuesday (5/20), and I was wondering if I would be able to start my birth control pills again today (5 days after surgery)? I had to stop taking them 2 weeks before the operation, so I don't quite know what the rules are for after surgery.

Answer: Birth Control after Breast Reduction Every surgeon will have their own preferences on what the feel is best regarding birth control. There is an increased risk of blood clots when oral birth control is used. Since your surgeon knows you body and your individual risks, he would be the best person to give you the advice on this issue. Thanks for the question.
