If only 1 liter of fat can be removed during lipo in combination with a BBL, does that mean 1 liter total or 1 liter after transfer?
Answer: Florida lipo & BBL limits: Is one liter the total amount of fat removed? In an office setting in Florida, the total supernatant fat allowed to be removed is 4 liters. When combined with another procedure such as a TT, the limit is 1 liter. These limits do not apply in a hospital setting.

Answer: Florida lipo & BBL limits: Is one liter the total amount of fat removed? Thanks for your question. While you can liposuction several areas at once there is a limit to how much fat can be removed safely. Risks from liposuction increase significantly when over 5 liters of fat are suctioned out. We usually stay below this limit for patient safety. We’ve found that we’re able to achieve dramatic improvements for our patients with 2 to 4 liters of liposuction, depending on their needs. When getting a tummy tuck along with liposuction the limits reduce to 1 ltr. That said, you definitely have to choose your surgeon correctly and make sure that he/she has the training and experience to meet your goals with absolute safety. A key quality indicator is Board Certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Don’t settle for less than a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with specialized expertise in this procedure.

Answer: BBL candidate Dear kpaul123, in case of BBL surgery, you plastic surgeon should be able to remove up to 4 liters of fat. However, if you want to combine liposuction and TT or other procedure, then he would be allowed to remove only 1 liter of fat. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Florida lipo & BBL limits: Is one liter the total amount of fat removed? The safe limit for lipoaspirate in Florida is 4L. Lipoaspirate is a mixture of fat, tumescent fluid, blood, and interstitial fluid. 4L of lipoaspirate does not yield 4L of fat to be injected to the buttocks. If you are lucky that may lead to 1L to each side. Over the first 6 weeks to 3 months ~50% of that volume injected is lost. That means the 1L would end up being ~500cc. Every PS is different in the technique they use. Some inject more fluid with their fat making the number larger at the time of surgery, but the amount of actual fat is not larger. Once that extra excess fluid is absorbed the buttocks shrink very rapidly. Another concern is if you have a lot of excess fat on your body (higher BMI), 4L is not a lot of fat to be removed, and you may be left with fat. Here in TX we can take 5L.
