Hello Vicky_82, It’s a pleasure to answer your questions! As a general rule, it would be safe to perform VASER Liposuction with fat transfer to the buttocks (Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) if patients have a hemoglobin level over 10. Request an in-person consultation with an experienced plastic surgeon to assess your candidacy for BBL surgery based on your age, skin laxity, body shape and health status, among other factors. During the first consultation, you will have the opportunity to discuss your specific needs and concerns. Kind regards! Dr. De La Cruz.
Dear Vicky_82,every plastic surgeon has his own preoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
It is important that when we have a surgical procedure our hemoglobin is not low. The red blood cells that are in our blood are like cars that carry our oxygen in the form of hemoglobin. When we have a surgery to be able to have a good recovery and good surgery outcome it is important to have a good hemoglobin level. Ideally it should be over 12.
Hi,Thank you for your question. It's best to have hemoglobin levels greater than 10g/dL. Its best to consult with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to get an examination to assess the areas and outcome. Best of luck.
Hi. For any plastic and reconstructive procedure your hemoglobin level must be a minimum of 12, as for combining multiple procedures the requirement is 13 grams minimum. This is because there is blood loss even when harvesting fat with Lipo (blood comes out with the fat being harvest) for transfer to buttocks. There is a need to compensate that blood loss by having high hemoglobin level to avoid patients shocks and complications like needing blood trasnfussion.Certified Plastic and Reconstructive SurgeonInternational Member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS)Member of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS)
The hemoglobin in your blood carries oxygen. Since you will lose some blood with your surgery it's important to know that you're at a safe level before surgery. Most healthy people have hemoglobin from 12.0-15.0 and most people will feel to be reasonably safe for surgery it should be above 12.0.
Greetings:For any surgical procedure is strongly recommended to have your hemoblogine at least over 12 mg/dl, if you suffer from anemia, your phisician will provide you the guideliness to help you increase your hemoglobine. Is always important to talk with your surgeon and discuss the best options for you. Your safety is first
Hi and Thanks for the question. In general, there is very little blood loss with both tumescent liposuction as well as with the Brazilian Butt Lift. That being said, it is always best to have as close to a normal hemoglobin level (12 - 15.5 g/dL) as possible for any elective surgical procedure. These, of course, are only general guidelines and it is best to check with your surgeon to determine their own particular requirements for hemoglogin prior to your procedure. Best of Luck!
Thank you for your question! At 7 weeks post op, you should be clear to go swimming as long as all incisions are closed and healed completely. I recommend discussing specific post op instructions with your plastic surgeon. Best of luck!

Hello! Thank you for your question. This is the issue with medical tourism in regards to cosmetic surgery. The surgery itself is just as important as the follow up care to ensure good results and optimal safe healing. Without an assessment in person it is impossible to say. I do recommend s...
