Thank you for your question! At 7 weeks post op, you should be clear to go swimming as long as all incisions are closed and healed completely. I recommend discussing specific post op instructions with your plastic surgeon. Best of luck!
Thank you for your question. Typically, 6-10 weeks is perfectly adequate to swim in a pool or ocean. Please check with your surgeon to see what they recommend as far as their recovery protocol. Hope this helps,Dr. German Newall
No pools or the like should be entered until wound healing is complete, which will take at least 6 weeks. The last thing you want is an infection following this procedures.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
Hello bbychula, It’s a pleasure to answer your questions! Every patient is unique and will have different healing deadlines. I usually recommend my patients to avoid tub soaking and/or swimming while sutures or drains are in place. Your surgeon may give you specific information on when you no longer need the drain and when it will be removed, but generally these are removed between 4-7 days after surgery, when the drainage output is less than 30 ml/24 hrs. It's recommended to avoid swimming or being in a bath tub when you have wounds that are still open since these wounds can get infected caused by Vibrio bacteria. Every case is different and you should ask your plastic surgeon when you can soak into the bath tub and/or go swimming. It’s always best consulting with your plastic surgeon about your specific needs and concerns. With appreciation, Dr. De La Cruz.
Hello dear!!Thanks for the question and provided information as well. I recommend my patients to wait at least 4 weeks before resuming their workout rutine. If you have any concerns, I suggest you to follow up close with your plastic surgeon.Hope this is helpful. Good luck :)
If all your scars are closed and you do not have any bruises you can go swimming, but you need to know that when you expose skin bruises to the sun they can end up getting dark and look like dark spots on your skin that will be difficult to get rid of afterwards. Also scars when immature have a pink color and when exposed to the sun they can also become dark and stay dark and more noticeable. Usually scars will mature (change from pink color to white) 4 - 6 months after surgery, once they are white you will not have any problem in exposing them to the sun.
Hi,Thank you for your question. I recommend to wait at least 6 weeks. Its best to check with your surgeon in regards to your recovery. Best of luck
