Do I need a second opinion? I had liposuction on my sides and stomach my belly is very uneven it seems to be getting worse every day. My doctor said it’s loose skin and was very dismissive as soon as he felt I was unhappy he just said it’s loose skin and do abs workouts. I think I need a second. I do know it’s only 4 weeks and it takes months to see final results but I feel the progress is obviously uneven and the fact it’s not improving is concerning.
Answer: Liposuction Recovery Anya. I completely appreciate your frustration, however 4 weeks is extremely early in your recovery journey after liposuction of those areas. It can take as long as six months for all swelling to resolve and skin to retract to allow you to enjoy your final results. I do not condone the dismissive nature of your plastic surgeon, however even if there is aymmetry or contour irregularities, they cannot and should not be addressed before the six-month period has passed. Try to stay patient and positive, and if your surgeon is still dismissive after six months, seek a second opinion from a board-certified plastic surgeon. Good luck.

Answer: Uneven abdomen Your unevenness is the result of the liposuction done on saggy skin, so you must acknowledge that another liposuction ( or coolsculpting or laser or SMART lipo) will only make worst the appearance of your abdomen, saggier and lumpier. No surgical procedure will improve that. You was a perfect candidate for a Tummy Tuck and muscle repair in order to remove the excess of saggy skin and create a flatter abdomen and smaller waist. My recommendation will be to wait at least 9-12 months to get done a Tummy Tuck and muscle repair and in the mean time do nothing but massaging to soften the fibrosis (internal scar tissue) which was left After the liposuction. Answer: Liposuction Results & After care includes RF treatments (Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra) Cellutone/zwave, hyperbaric oxygen It is too soon to tell what your final results will be. You have swelling, which can last 3-6 months after your procedure. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Liposuction candidate Dear Anya Sa,I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a liposuction surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively. At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides you will be able to see the final result of your surgery.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: Liposuction Results Hello,Based on your pre op and current photos, you had, and currently have, skin excess, as well as excess adiposity that is still present. Once you heal, around 6 months minimum, go visit a few ABPS certified/ASAPS member surgeons who specialize in body contouring. You'll need a tummy tuck. Best of luck!
