Is an injection of Juvederm Vollure filler the best option for scars on my nose from basal cell mohs surgery? (photo)

The choice of filler should be determined by the injector in discussion with the patient as there are a number of options but I usually prefer Juvederm Voluma for these types of scars. It is best to have an in-person assessment with a board-certified dermatologist who can examine the scar carefully and prescribe a treatment plan tailored to your unique needs. Keep in mind that if you choose a dermal filler to reduce the appearance of your scar, the results will be temporary and you will need to schedule regular sessions to maintain the improvement. However, an experienced doctor will be able to advise you as to whether this is the best treatment choice for you. 

It is hard to make a definitive statement based on the photo, but filler may not be the best option in this circumstance; the scar appears depressed and/or hypertrophic. An in person consultation would be required for more complete answers.

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs.  Typically a thicker filler like Voluma is better in the nose as it is more structural than Vollure, but this depends on the exact goals you are trying to achieve. Communicate more with your injector, and possibly seek out second opinions as to the best treatment. 

HelloThank you for your question. I would not use vollure in the nose. It does not have sufficient structural support to push out a scar. I would recommend evaluation for potential deep resurfacing or scar revision first and if these are not possible I would consider a stiffer easier to dissolve filler (in case if there is an issue) for this area I chose restylane. Best of luck.

Hello and thank you for your question.  The best way to treat a scar, in my opinion, is a resurfacing procedure.  Such as CO2 laser resurfacing or microneedling.  Your wound must be completely healed for any of the procedures, including filler.  This will help the appearance and texture of area.  For CO2 typically one treatment is needed with about 2 weeks of healing, depending on the depth of the scar. CO2 is taking layers of skin off to reveal smoother, healthy skin.  Microneedling, you will need several treatments with 1-2 days of healing time.  Microneedling uses tiny needles to create wells in the skin that your body wants to heal. This creates a smoother texture to areas treated.    Dermal filler in this area may help the appearance of the scar but would need an in person consultation to be sure. 

Hi thank you for your question.  It is difficult to determine which product would be best for you based on the photo alone. However, I do believe a more robust filler would give you better results. Some examples are Juvederm, Restylane, Restylane Lyft, and Voluma. Usually a combination approach will give you best results. If area has fully healed I would consider microneedling, pico laser, or PRP/PRF.  The best way to find out which treatment is right for you is through an in person consultation. Best of luck!

Hello. Thank you for your question. Vollure is a thinner product and can be used on your nose. Another product that would be great would be Bellotero. This can be placed pretty superficial and would help fill in the holes. 

Thank you for providing the photo. The general rule of thumb is that the deeper the indentation or pivot, the larger molecule filler is better. Since you only provided the one small photo it's hard to tell if Vollure is the right choice or if Voluma might be better. Voluma is a larger particle, thicker size filler, so it works better in deeper folds.
