Will a forehead reduction reduce the action of the frontalis muscle? (Photos)

Question

I would like to bring my hairline down a half inch lower as pictured, below my highest forehead crease. I was wondering if this procedure would eliminate or reduce the crease so that my hairline doesn't move when I raise my eyebrows, so it'd still look natural.

I do not perform forehead reduction/scalp advancement procedures for males due to the risk of scar exposure over time. A hair transplant procedure is a great option for lowering the hairline in a man, but may require two sessions to achieve maximal frontal hairline density.All the best,

When the excess skin is removed from the hairline lowering surgery, it is possible to remove a bit of extra skin, and if indicated address the glabella (eyebrow) and forehead muscles to achieve at the same time a browlift or some type of brow sculpting.  These are powerfully effective techniques for advancing the overly high hairline, but the patient must be an appropriate candidate.

Forehead reduction surgery, in my opinion, should not be done in men because of the risks of recession that is significant in men (not women). If you happen to recede after the lowering procedure, you will have an obvious scar that will require a hair transplant to cover it.  For this reason, I advise a hair transplant lowering procedure for someone like you.
