Can I use fish oil or other supplements after rhinoplasty?

Hello doctors!! I had rhinoplasty almost 1 month ago. The swelling is still there. I'm wondering if I can take fish oil and other vitamins now or I have to wait until all the swelling has go down, thank you doctors!!

Hello,The supplement industry is a multi-billion dollar scam. There are no health benefits to taking vitamins and fish oil, as proven by the scientific method. My recommendation is don’t waste your money.

I tell my patients that they can resume all medications and supplements 3 weeks after surgery.  That being said, it is best for you to ask your surgeon post op instructions vary between surgeons.

Thanks for the question.  I allow my parents to resume taking supplements such as fish oil two weeks after rhinoplasty.  Since all doctors are different, I’d recommend you ask yours before doing so.

Thanks for the question.  Typically, you can restart oral supplements one week after rhinoplasty surgery.  At one month postop, it should be safe for you to take oral supplements again.  Swelling is typically the result of the surgery itself and is not lengthened or shortened by oral supplements.
