Fat can be transferred to anywhere on the body. Lip augmentation requires very little volume and grafts are permanent (a blessing or curse depending upon outcome). Additionally, graft take rates in the face are relatively higher often exceeding 50%.With regards to your specific question, BBL can be combined with lip augmentation without difficulty. Expectations will depend upon how much fat is grafted and the technique employed. Fat should be used sparingly in the lip. Due to the high vascularity, special care should be taken to avoid intravascular injection and fat emboli. As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).
As a American Board of Plastic Surgery board certified plastic surgeon, I combine fat transfer procedures of all types. By 6 weeks, you should see much of the final result, but it may take 3 to 6 months to realize a stable result. In general, fat grafting has a permanence in the face of greater than 50%. Thank you for your question. Fat transfer to lips can be performed during the BBL safely. Most plastic surgeons are trained to do the lip augmentation with fat transfer. You definitely have to choose your surgeon correctly and make sure that he/she has the training and experience to meet your goals with absolute safety. Don’t settle for less than a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with specialized expertise in this procedure.
Hello dear!!Thanks for the question. The plastic surgeon is prepared to do the fat transfer to lips and it is very normal and common to do it during the BBL. The results varies with every patient and doctor. Make sure you make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon for a good evaluation and to talk about your goals.Good luck :)
It is possible, and you can have great results! It is only about 4cc's of fat needed for the transfer. Keep in mind that for best results with a BBL, High Definition liposuction with VASER technology, as well as Puregraft fat transfer will give the highest yield of fat.
This is a delicate issue since fat transfer is so popular. This is what you need to know:All the transferred fat does not survive (40-80% disappears). The fat that does survive doesn't know where it is and will behave forever as if it were in its original location: if you gain weight (or lose weight) the transferred fat will gain or lose according to the donor site, not the recipient bed. This is a big concern for patients who gain weight in advance of the procedure to get more fat for harvest. Thus there are two types of complications: short term related to fat necrosis or fat disappearance and long term related to fat behavior with weight change, hormone change, etc..Be sure to see a surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (a Board that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)) who has a great deal of experience in this arena.
Too early to judge on the final result. You are still at the healing stage. The area in your lower back will be still bruised and swollen and this will take 8-12 weeks to settle. Wear your garment and keep your follow up with your surgeon. You have to give your body at least 12 weeks to start...
You will find that plastic surgeons differ in their opinions regarding shaving or waxing the day before a BBL. Some surgeons believe shaving or waxing the operative area may cause skin irritations or make incisions more susceptible to an infection. To be on the safe side, ask your plastic sur...
Garments will help reduce post-op swelling and potential bruising which are sources of post discomfort. It is too early to evaluate your final outcome. I would recommend following your surgeons compression protocol and meet with him/her periodically to assess your progress. IMO, co...
