I've done silhouette thread lift 3 years ago with small incisions in the hair around temporal area. Now I'm considering short scar facelift and the incisions will be in the hairline close to the thread incisions. 1. Will scar tissue or thread from thread lift cause wavy skin after a facelift? 2. Do the thread need to be removed before facelift surgery...can thread get tangled up with suture from facelift? 3. What's the chance of nerve injury from a facelift? Thank you so much doctors!!

Answer: Mini Facelift After Thread Lift than6278 I appreciate your concern, however it is highly likely that the threads used in your thread lift were dissolvable and should no longer be present. There may be some residual scar tissue from the threads, however an experienced plastic surgeon should be able to deal with the scarring. There should be no increased chances of nerve injury. Discuss all your concerns with the board certified plastic surgeon. Good luck.

Answer: Unlikely so in the vast majority of cases, threads and all signs of their presence have gone by three years following insertion. Sadly, there is often very little sign that they were ever inserted even shortly after surgery. In my experience disappointment is high. If there is no signs of the threads now then it’s very unlikely they will be any pinching of the skin after a facelift. This would be the case for deep plane but also a superficial plane facelift. Nerve injury is a rare complication of any facelift operation and I don’t think any more likely In you. Ask your surgeon what is incidence of nerve injury is for your reassurance. Hope that helps.
