I am 4weeks post OP I had a bbl fat transfer. At first I was happy with my results on how full my butt looked now tht most of my swelling is gone I feel like I dont see a big difference at all.
Answer: Concern 4 weeks after BBL Congratulationson your recent procedure...The procedure of liposuction is an"insult" to the soft tissues, resulting in swelling which willinitially totally obscure the operative result. Thepurpose of a compression garment is to prevent bleeding and to controlswelling. We usually recommend its use for the first 4-6 weeks after theprocedure. 60-80%of the swelling should subside within the first 6 weeks, with the remainderslowly subsiding over 6-12 months. The initial fullness you experienced was due to the presence of inflammatory swelling. As it subsides, the result becomes apparent. It is important to know how much fat was injected into the buttocks during the procedure. After 6 months (to allow for subsidence of swelling and the hypervascularity of healing), you may consider a secondary procedure. 15% of cosmetic procedures require a secondary touchup.Continuefollowup care with your plastic surgeon.Best wishes...

Answer: BBL results Dear yayalee3, most patients lose 30-50% of transferred fat. I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a BBL surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process. Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively. At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides you will be able to see the final result of your surgery. Answer: My butt looks small again! Will my BBL change throughout the months with getting bigger? Or is this the size I am going to be? The results immediately following surgery will be the largest due to swelling and lack of fat resorption. The buttocks will continue to decrease in size for the first few weeks. I have observed that between 4 and 6 weeks the buttocks tend to stabilize in volume. Usually by 3 months, the swelling is minimal and totally resolved by 6 months. Follow your PS's post-operative instructions to achieve optimum results. Kenneth Hughes, MD, ABPS Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Los Angeles, CA

Answer: My butt looks small again! Will my BBL change throughout the months with getting bigger? Or is this the size I am going to be? On average 1 month after surgery is too early to the make a decision on ones final result, usually 3-6 months is required to consider if an area requires a revision or such up correction. Meaning your recovery and final result depends on the amount of fat removed from liposuction, the areas liposuctioned, and the amount of fat transferred to your buttock.

Answer: My butt looks small again! Will my BBL change throughout the months with getting bigger? Or is this the size I am going to be? Hello dear!! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. After a BBL, only about 70-50% of the transferred fat cells will survive, so it is normal to see a minor reduction in your buttocks. If you have any concerns, I suggest you to follow up close with your plastic surgeon. Good luck :)
