Thank you for posting your question. These photos are not very adequate for evaluation, but it seems to me that you might be overweight and lipo is not your best option. Lipo only treats the fat beneath the skin. Some types of lipo can help with skin contraction but they will never be comparable to a tummy tuck. If your BMI is good then you would be a candidate for a TT with Lipo. Every surgeon has his own BMI limit. If your BMI is too high, it would be safer to start with weight loss prior to having the TT done. Please don't be fooled by the cool sounding names for different types of lipo. Your best choice is without a doubt a tummy tuck. Some of these do help with skin retraction. But generally speaking, results depend on the surgeons expertise and not on the technology being used.Best of luck,Dr. Miguel Mota
You need a formal evaluation by an expert in body shaping and contouring to determine what is best. Traditional liposuction awake and smart liposuction are old methods and do very poorly for tightening skin or significant skin tightening or contouring. Small problem areas can be improved slightly by these methods. The best in body contouring not only removes fat with energy devices like VASER ultrasound but also internally heat the skin with radio-frequency devices such as J PLASMA/RENUVION, InMode BodyTite, ThermiRF to heat the under surface of the skin and tighten it at the same time as fat removal. These combinations are called 4D HIDEF VASER contouring and can only be done by a well . trained body contouring specialist. At the same time fat should be harvested, PRP and stem cells added and injected into muscles or indentations/cellulite to get body shaping and contouring. This is known as a Brazilian butt lift when you inject the fat to the buttock for contouring and lifting, but fat can also be used in areas such as the chest/breast, arms/shoulders, calves and face. Cellulite should also be treated with cellfina, sculptra, subcision and/or fillers such as bellafill, renuva synthetic fat, or sculptra. If skin is very loose before surgery then it will need to be removed such as lower abdominal skin (tummy tuck/abdominoplasty), breast skin (breast lift), arm skin (brachioplasty). Overall you need a full assessment, but simple liposuction alone will not tighten skin and needs a combination of various methods -- fat removal, skin tightening, defining, fat grafting, skin removal -- to get the best in body contouring and body sculpting. Thank you for your pictures and questions. Do not be fooled by fancy advertising and cool sounding names. AquaLipo, LaserLipo, the list goes on and on. The bottom line is that none of these things come close to the results from a traditional surgical liposuction procedure. You would be best to have a consultation with a plastic surgeon that is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery to figure out what might be best for you. You might find that you are not even a good candidate for liposuction at all depending on your expectations and goals.Best of luck!Dallas R. There is nothing inherently special or superior about "aqua-lipo". It's just one particular form of liposuction. The other forms of liposuction work just as well. It's more about the surgeon and their skill and experience, not the cannula. If I gave you Leonardo da Vinci's paintbrush, for example, would you suddenly paint a Mona Lisa? Of course not. Don't buy into the marketing hype.Since you are in Florida, the maximum fat that can be removed is 4 liters.Honestly, I would suggest weight loss first, then keep the lipo for later, to get the stubborn fat. Perhaps you could consider using one of the FDA-approved weight loss medications, like Qsymia, for a while. We've had good success with this in our practice. Then lipo, when you closer to your goal weight.
Liposuction - regardless of the specific technology - will remove fat under the skin. This can improve your contours but if you have lax skin, that will remain. So in your case, you may consider an abdominoplasty either as a second procedure or initially, if you mainly want to lose that lower portion of skin and fat.The specific technology (SmartLipo, Aqua, or whatever) is not important though you can expect to hear otherwise. None of these have been shown to be superior to standard liposuction and good postoperative care.
Without standard photos and benefit of physical exam- it's impossible to evaluate accurately. I suggest that you seek an experienced Board Certified PS for consultation
mrsjm Better photos would help to answer your question in a more detailed fashion. Generally speaking, traditional liposuction is still the gold standard. Such highly marketed devices as laser liposuction, aqua liposuction and such have never been proven to work better than traditional liposuction. These other machines are simply marketed by their manufacturers to be better, but are not. The most important factor with regard to liposuction is the board-certified plastic surgeon using the machine, and his or her experience and expertise. Good luck.
Based on photos alone, it is difficult to say if liposuction is a good choice. Lipo can only address fat between the skin and muscle layer, not fat within or under the muscles of the abdomen. It also doesn’t address loose muscles or skin. If your fat is inside the abdomen or if your skin is already somewhat loose, liposuction will not make your stomach flat, and it may even create more loose skin. I recommend an in person consultation. As for the type of lipo, the skill and experience of your surgeon are more important factors.
Your photos are totally inadequate for an evaluation, I am assuming you are talking about your abdomen. However, attempting to gain some knowledge from the photos leaves me thinking that no kind of liposuction would be adequate. Your photos need to be in the standing position and with no cloths over your abdomen. They need to be from the front and sides. My guess is that you will need a tummy tuck probably with liposuction. No, in my opinion, there is no method of liposuction that is better than another. The skill of the plastic surgeon is what makes the difference. If you don't want to do this, then a personal consultation with a plastic surgeon is your best move going forwardThank you for your question, and good luck.
In my hands traditional liposuction has given me the best results. There two things that are important with liposuction one is creating an even concentration of fat cells from head to toe and making the skin contract. Both of these things are equally important, one without the other will not give a good result. Some of these new forms of liposuction claim to give better skin contraction than traditional liposuction but I disagree with this. You can get remarkable skin contraction with traditional liposuction. You must remember that liposuction is not a weight changing procedure is a shape changing procedure. Liposuction is a rob Peter to pay Paul type of surgery. If you take away the storage compartment in one location the calories will be gained another so trying to make storage compartments even his perfection.I do think you can have a significant change in your figure with liposuction.
Hello. Great question. I am sorry for your post op difficulties. Based on your image, it appears to be bruising. Swelling and bruising is normal al one week post op. Keep following up closely with your surgeon.
Hello. Great question. I am sorry for your post op difficulties. At 7 weeks it is still early to see your final results. Swelling may be present. I will suggest following up with your surgeon to rule out any fluid collection.
Dear Lawoman, Hello and thank you for your excellent question. You may want to look into a body contouring procedure that combines both liposuction with laser, radiofrequency (RF), or acoustic therapy to produce the best balance of fat reduction and skin tightening and smoothing for your body...
