Is it possible to fix a nose that was broken long time ago and did not heal properly?

Question

Hey I look at my nose in the mirror and it looks really crooked and it was not always like this.I think the reason it got like this is because when i was a child i fell right on my nose while i was playing at a childrens playground.Following the incident i was really scared to go to any doctor and i somehow managed to convince my mum not to do it as well . I think that is the reason why my nose looks crooked and im wondering if its possible to get it fixed now .

Yes, your nose can be fixed.  It is very common for patients to seek cosmetic rhinoplasty who have had nasal trauma in the past.  The nasal bones will need to be refractured in order to straighten the nose and reestablish symmetry.  The septum may also have been injured, with septal deviation causing the nose to appear crooked.  Septoplasty will serve to straighten the deviated septum providing not only cosmetic improvements, but also functional improvements in the way of better nasal air flow as well.  I suggest you follow up with a board certified surgeon who specializes in rhinoplasty surgery.   Good Luck

It is possible to fix the nose even though the injury was in the distant past.Find a plastic surgeon with ELITE credentials who performs hundreds  
of rhinoplasties and rhinoplasty revisions each year.  Then look at the 
 plastic surgeon's website before and after photo galleries to get a

It's difficult without a picture to tell if you might be a good candidate for rhinoplasty (nose surgery), but generally, a nose that is deformed from an injury in the past usually can be improved with surgery.

It is certainly acceptable to undergo rhinoplasty for a broken nose that occurred many years ago. To straighten a curved nose, medial and lateral osteotomies must be performed. In many instances a cartilage  spreader graft will be inserted underneath the upper lateral cartilage on the concave side to give symmetry or improve airflow.
