I had an areola reduction last July and I was left like this. The scar is massive and I'm not even sure if the areola is the same size as the other one even without it, I don't think it is. I'm scared that the areola is also now an irregular shape. They are telling me to just do scar treatments but I don't think it is fair after having paid that much. Are my concerns valid? What should I do? Would a revision fix this?
Answer: Areola The areola can be revised to be made smaller and permanent sutures will be needed, or it may stretch again. You will also need to wear a good supporting bra.

Answer: Botched areola reduction Dear Generous675861, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: How do I fix this? From the submitted you do have asymmetry of the areola as well as scar hypertrophy. It takes a year or more for scars to mature. You will want to wait until this landmark to consider a revision to improve your results. I've included a video I hope you find helpful.

Answer: How do I fix this botched areola reduction? Thank you for your question and including pictures. Sorry to hear that you are unhappy. Fortunately, you are still in the healing phase. Scars on the body look their worst at about 3-4 months. Then they progressively get better for at least the next year or 2 as they fade. So, right now, the best thing to do to minimize the scar is silicone. If your areola is still too big, then a revision is needed to make it smaller. The biggest problem with a circumareolar scar for reduction is that the scar widens or the areola restretches. The best way to prevent both of these from occurring is to ad the vertical scar to take the tension off of the areolar scar
