Post hair transplant pain and tenderness after 2 weeks!

Question

I have come back from Turkey following a hair transplant (FUE) procedure. I had 3800 grafts. My donor area is very tender and I have excruciating pain in this area and cannot get any sleep at night even after 2 weeks of post surgery! I have read and seen many videos on Youtube and all the videos advise that there is hardly or no pain after surgery!!!... not in my case! I have tried ibuprofen and paracetamol and massage but unfortunately it has made absolutely no difference. please help.

If you are having issues after surgery with pain and tenderness it is best to contact your doctor for an examination and possible treatment.

I've seen patients after FUE have pain in the donor area around a week that lasts for a few days. But 2 weeks to have the level of pain you area describing is unusual. To be safe I would see a dermatologist to make sure there is no infection or cystic ingrown hairs or hematoma that can be treated.

By 2 weeks post FUE there should be none or minimal pain but everyone's pain threshold is different.The major concern would be infection.I would recommend being evaluated by a local Dermatologist or experienced Hair Restoration surgeon.

That much pain two weeks after surgery is not usual.  You need an in-person medical evaluation sooner rather than later.

If you have severe pain after a hair transplant you must go back and see your doctor as there are many things that can go wrong and you need to be evaluated for them
