Can I get rid of bumps on my areola with a breast reduction and areola reduction? (Photo)

Question

Ever since having children, not only has my areola gotten larger and darker, I've also developed these little bumps on them. I didn't breastfeed. It doesn't hurt. What are they? I want to get a mommy makeover with breast reduction and areola reduction. Will they be able to get rid of the bumps too?

it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Areola reduction can improve the shape of your areolas and bumps. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

Hello, thank you for your question. These are Montgomery glands and are completely normal. You'll notice that they can be more prominent when you're cold, similar to the way your nipples are more prominent when cold. There are variations from woman to woman, but these bumps are part of normal breast anatomy.

The bumps that you mentioned on your areola are part of your natural anatomy.  They will be remain unless your surgeon decreases the size of your areola.  I encourage you to discuss your concerns with your surgeon.  It is important that you feel comfortable and confident in your surgical plan.
