I’d like to get a breast lift but most stories I see are people who have never been overweight or lost a bunch of weight. I know that some fat lovely has to have had a breast lift at some point in history. Is this a thing that happens? Are they successful long term? If you’re overweight and got the procedure how do you like it?
Answer: Do overweight (or fat) people get breast lifts? In general, most of my patients are usually trying to lose a little weight for their overall health and their appearance. I encourage my patients to be at a stable weight before considering any type of breast surgery. Because if a lot of weight is lost after surgery then it can deflate the breast and the skin can sag more requiring a revision surgery. Overweight patients can undergo breast reduction, breast lifts ( mastopexy) and augmentations. Make sure to see a board certified plastic surgeon for a thorough evaluation.

Answer: Do fat people get breast lifts? Thank you for your questions. There may be some confusion here about a breast lift vs a breast reduction. Sometimes people who are overweight can still qualify or desire a breast reduction. However, for health reasons, it is usually advisable that you obtain a BMI of less than 30 before considering any cosmetic surgical procedure.Hope this helps!

Answer: Breast Lift Great question! It is termed a "breast reduction" because the size is reduced AND the breast is lifted. I recommend an in-office examination as well as a detailed discussion with a surgeon who you are comfortable with. Finally, make sure your surgeon is a Double-Board Certified Plastic Surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS), a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS), a member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).Best,Dr. DesaiBeverly Hills Institute for Aesthetic Plastic SurgeryHarvard Educated, Beverly Hills & Miami Beach TrainedDouble Board-Certified, Double Fellowship-Trained Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Breast lift Dear DuckyLove, yes, even overweight woman can get a breast lift but only as long as their BMI is under 30. BMI over 30 increases the risk of complications. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Society of Plastic Surgery

Answer: Do fat people get breast lifts? Hello dear! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. In general, you need to be physically healthy and at a stable weight, have realistic expectations, non-smoker and your BMI needs to be 33 or less. l recommend you to make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your goals and anything you need to know. Good luck :)
