Fat necrosis 13 days after BBL? (Photo)

Question

I did a BBL 13 days ago. Immediately after I noticed stretch marks and bruising on right hip where the doc injected fat. There was light bruising and the skin felt painful when it rubbed against my clothes so I was rubbing it with Vaseline. Since then the area has turned dark and is now painful to touch. The area feels hard but it isn't rock solid. Is this fat necrosis or is it normal?

There may be several possibilities including hematoma, fluid collection, etc, but you will need to be examined.

I would recommend that you discuss this question with your surgeon so he/she can examine you and recommend the most appropriate treatment plan at this time.  Every surgeon has their own respective post op protocol for his/her patients.  Your surgeon is your best resource as he/she is most familiar with your medical history and how you are healing at this time.  
The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam.

Thank you for your question. Unfortunately you would need to be seen to make a diagnosis .  I recommend following up with your plastic surgeon. This could be bruising or fluid collection. Good luck with your recovery.

This could be several things. The possibilities are a pocket of liquified fat (like fat necrosis), an infection, or a serious bruise/collection of blood. You need to be seen by your surgeon to make a diagnosis.
