I'm a truck driver if I wait 4 weeks after the BBL. Do you think i can drive normally because my job requires me to sit a long period of time. Will it be healed within a month.
Answer: BBL post op Thank you for your question. While you are okay to sit at 4 weeks, most of my patients have waited longer until they sit. You may purchase a BBL pillow to alleviate any prolonged weight and pressure on your buttocks if you must return back to work. Please speak with your surgeon if you are concerned.Regards,

Answer: How long after BBL can I drive my truck? I am a truck driver. There are no hard and fast rules on when to drive or for what distance after a BBL once you are no longer taking pain medication. Most plastic surgeons would recommend limiting your driving the first 6 to 8 weeks following the BBL. I recommend that my patients minimize sitting, even with a pillow, for the first two weeks. If they have to sit, it is critical that every 30 minutes or an hour that patients get up and stand for a few seconds to take the pressure off. This reduces the chance for fat necrosis. After 6 weeks the fat has revascularized, and you have a very good idea of your final results. Because you have to drive (be sure to use your pillow) long hours each day, it is critical that every 30 minutes or an hour you stop, get out of your vehicle, and stand for a few seconds to take the pressure off. .Driving is much worst than sitting as pushing on the accelerator or brake involves pushing back against the buttocks and lower back.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Answer: How long after BBL can I drive my truck? I am a truck driver. I recommend my patients to use a special pillow for sitting two weeks after surgery for short durations. You might need to wait a couple of months to sit normally for prolonged period of time. Consult your surgeon for post op protocol.

Answer: Driving after a BBL I don't recommend that my patients sit for extended periods of time for about 2 months after a BBL. Too much pressure on the buttock may cause deformities or loss of integrity/shape of your BBL. That's not to say that you can't sit for two months. There is a technique where you can place a pillow underneath your thighs and sit on that. Your weight and the pressure is now placed on your thighs instead of you buttock and the buttock essentially "hangs" off the pillow. If you can do this comfortably while driving, then great! Lastly, I do NOT recommend driving if you are still taking your pain medications.

Answer: BBL and sitting Sitting directly on you buttocks for prolonged periods of time is probably not good even at 4 weeks. Perhaps a special pillow can be used so that the buttock remains off the seat. Best to discuss with your surgeon.
