I'm not sure if I should do these procedures! I want to do them, but I want to make sure it's worth it. I'm not sure if the things causing me to not have my dream face is muscle instead of fat?
Answer: Do I need the above procdures? Thank you for your questions. Judging just by your pictures it is my opinion that you are not a good candidate for any of them. Consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon with expertise in facial cosmetic surgery and discuss your concerns, options and risks.

Answer: Buccal Fat Pad Removal and a Chin Enhancement Hi, Thanks for your questions.Though the Pictures not adequate to comment anything with much surity, I can say that if you want to do Only One thing in your face- I will suggest is Buccal fat removal. NO LIPOUCTION.Chin Enhancment through Sliding Genioplasty can be discussed after seeing a good lateral photograph.I do not recommend having a chin implant since the chances of complications are quite high and its a risky one. Where as sliding genioplasty involved no foregn material, just sliding your own chin bone through a procedure performed through inside of your mouth so no visible scars (unlike implants than produces scar under the chin area and has high chances of moving from its position afterwards).I suggest you to find a board certified plastic surgeon online and get your doubts cleared through an e-consultation first, then schedule an in-person examination to finalize the procedure. All the best.

Answer: Bingo I would say go to the front of the line. You look like the quintessential ideal candidate for chin and neck Liposuction combined with chin augmentation. I see no reason this should not work out well for you as long as you choose inappropriate plastic surgeon. Personally I have a little experience with buccle fat removal but I would imagine it would look good on you. I do have some concerns about patient doing that procedure and regretting the decision later in life as facial volume decreases. In regards to liposuction and chin augmentation I think you are pretty much as close as it gets to being an ideal candidate. To be well-informed you may want to consider talking to some oral surgeons about a sliding genioplasty which is an alternative. Simply learning about the two procedures to make a better informed decision is a good idea. it seems to me that plastic surgeons and more likely to recommend a chin implant while oral surgeons do a more definitive procedure called sliding genioplasty. Well done chin and neck Liposuction should give you a highly defined Jaw line all the way to your ear lobe. The following are some general recommendations for those seeking cosmetic surgery. I recommend patients avoid traveling long distances for elective surgical procedures. There are of course instances where there is a lack of local talent and traveling to some degree is inevitable. If traveling for the procedure patients should be ready to travel to have the consultation, post operative appointments and follow up should there be issues or complications. Patients sometimes do not appreciate the importance of in person consultations, that complications do happen or the number of people who have issues with their results or need revisions. Schedule multiple consultations with different providers in your area who seem to have a good reputation for the procedure you’re interested in. Starting with at least five consultations seems like a reasonable number to me. Whenever possible schedule in person consultations. During in person consultations ask each plastic surgeon to show all of their before and after pictures for the procedure you’re interested in. The goal is not to see the best results of their career but to get an idea of what average results look like and get some type of confirmation of how many of these procedures that provider has performed. Ask to see results that were not as good as the doctor would’ve hoped for and talk about the differences in outcomes. Honest and experienced providers should have no problems presenting this type of information. A highly experienced plastic surgeon should have hundreds of before and after pictures for the procedure you’re interested in. At a minimum at least 20+. Read all the reviews on various physician review websites paying close attention and avoiding providers with any significant number of justified negative reviews. Providers with an abundance of reviews often have aggressive marketing campaigns. The plastic surgeons I respect most all have the single variable of not having justified negative reviews on their online profiles. In my opinion justified negative reviews are far more telling than an abundance of positive reviews. Avoid scheduling for surgery or making a deposit on the day of the consultation. Give yourself some time to think about the decision and make sure you finished all scheduled consultations before committing to having surgery that will permanently and irreversibly change your body. When in doubt slow down and schedule more consultations. Choosing the right plastic surgeon is the single most important variable to having a positive experience. Don’t go chasing after technology or names of certain equipment. Instead focus all your efforts on finding the most experienced and talented board-certified plastic surgeon. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
