Candela ND YAG laser (broken capillaries on face). Brief sun exposure w/o sunscreen - worried about hyperpigmentation.

Question

2 days prior to treatment, I jogged 30 minutes, midday w/o sunscreen. (winter here, no bright sun, overcast, and cold),. After the procedure, the doc did not put sunscreen on my face, and I was in the sun unprotected for 10 minutes (no sun, cloudy cold day) and then in car for 20 min? Then, was careful to stay in doors for 5 days. On 5th day I had to drive for 30 minutes each way and sun was shining. I was in car, and in/out of buildings. w/o sunscreen. Will I have hyperpigmentation damage?

There is no way to say for certain of course, but I would be very surprised if you developed hyperpigmentation as a result of this amount of sun exposure. To be safe, from now on I would recommend protecting your skin with daily SPF, avoiding direct sun exposure and wearing a hat if outdoors. Only time will tell, but should you develop any hyperpigmentation, I would advise returning to your doctor for examination. Worse case scenario, there are things that can be prescribed to help get your skin back to normal.

Thank you for your question.
Please don't worry, I doubt that the temperature/UV dose was sufficient to cause any damage whatsoever.
Speak to your doctor at your next appointment. There are plenty of products that he can prescribe were there any issue arising but I would be very surprised from the exposure you describe.
