Is it possible to get bigger forehead and higher hairline permanently and so that it would look like normal facial skin?

I have pretty low hairline and I have always hated it. Small forehead makes me feel insecure and I think that I would look much better with higher hairline. I don't want to do an ordinary forehead lift cause it wouldn't make my hairline high enough and I don't want to have my eyebrows higher either. How to solve the problem?

One way to achieve a longer forehead is to do expansion of forehead skin with tissue expander (a balloon which is placed underneath forehead skin and gradually inflated to stretch skin). Once satisfactory amount of expansion is achieved, expander is removed and hairline is placed in a higher position. Incision for placement of expander and lift should is well hidden in the scalp. This surgery will require 2 surgical stages 12-14 days apart.You should discuss this option with a board certified plastic surgeon or a craniofacial surgeon in your area. Good luck.

The beauty about proper approach to surgery whereby a surgeon is equally nuanced in cosmetic as well as reconstructive methods is that one can use techniques in one field to advantage in t'other. Therefore, in theory (depends upon your age, your skin type, your skin condition, the relative surrounding anatomy, the desired increase in your forehead, etc), one can expand the forehead with tissue expanders and raise the hair line.Often, the hairline needs to be moved less than one thinks to achieve an improvement.Also, what you and I perceive in ourselves may be not quite as dramatic as what others see in us: ensure you not only seek opinions from professionals, but also from your friends and others close to you. It also pays to remember Poe's refrain: “There is no exquisite beauty… without some strangeness in the proportion.” The point is you may be able to use this to your advantage whilst retaining what is essentially you. May be too philosophical for a cosmetic website, but it pays to reflect.Conclusion: seek an opinion from a craniofacially-trained cosmetic surgeon who still practices the reconstructive side of his field. There are always right and wrong people to see for particular problems and we should not be afraid to guide you to the right person for you. A two stage process, the first involving expansion of the forehead, could give you what you want without raising the eyebrows. You would have to undergo a 3 to 6 week period of distortion of your forehead which precedes the second and final procedure.
